Suddenly the rangers ask everyone to move back. Richie, the dominant male of the group, has been spotted and is heading our way. Soon we see the treetops shaking heavily. I look up in suspense. Richie climbs overhead on a rope toward the platform. As he dangles with his arms spread wide on the rope, his size becomes clear. He’s as big as an adult man. The flaps beside his eyes give him an impressive look. He calmly sits down on the platform, grabs a coconut, and bites it in half. He pays no attention to the onlookers in the parking area. After an hour, the visit is over. Richie is still sitting on the platform. We say goodbye.
