Montenegro - The old bridge of Virpazar

After breakfast, I meet Vlado in front of the hotel. He takes me to the airport one last time. The airport is a twenty-minute drive from Virpazar. Outside, it seems even hotter than it has been over the past few days. At the airport, I walk with Vlado to the lost and found. There is still no trace of my luggage. It might now be sent directly to the Netherlands, but it could also first be sent to Podgorica. In the latter case, it would then be forwarded to the Netherlands. With only my hand luggage, I check in. The flight to Rome goes smoothly. We even arrive in Italy slightly ahead of schedule. That works out well, because there is an enormous line of people waiting for baggage control. It takes a long time to get through. Understandably, some people with short transfer times push their way to the front. I am well on time for my connecting flight to Amsterdam. The plane, however, takes more time, and with a delay of more than half an hour we finally take off towards Schiphol. Postscript: My luggage remained missing until after the holiday. On Thursday, three days after my return, it finally arrived in Podgorica. A day later, it seems the luggage was sent on to the Netherlands via Vienna. Yet it still took until Monday before the luggage was back “home.” In total, the luggage had been missing for 17 days. Incomprehensible that something like this can happen with a European destination.
