Guadeloupe > By train through Paris

Dag 17 - Saturday, March 16, 2024

By the time the meal is served, a new day has already begun at the destination. Chicken, rice, and salad. I order a glass of wine with it. After eating, I try to get some sleep. This goes only moderately well. After a few hours, I give up. I start watching a movie. When the plane begins its descent towards Paris Orly Airport, it is already getting light outside.

Guadeloupe - The runway is clear for departure

The connecting flight to Amsterdam does not depart from Orly, but from Charles de Gaulle Airport. At the baggage claim, we pick up our luggage and walk towards the train station. Along the way, we meet a Finnish couple. They were also on board the Costa Fortuna and have the same transfer between airports. Together, we follow the route to the train. From the airport, a shuttle train runs to Antony station every ten minutes. Without much trouble, we arrive at Antony. From there, during peak hours, a local train to Charles de Gaulle Airport runs every ten minutes. We board the train and travel through the center of Paris. About an hour later, we arrive at Charles de Gaulle. We are well in time. Patiently, we wait until we can board the flight to Amsterdam. Exactly at one o’clock in the afternoon, we land back in the Netherlands.
