Germany - The lights on the banks of the Arno

The last day has arrived. On the ground floor, an extensive breakfast buffet is ready. After giving our room number, we can take whatever we want. Around us is a mix of businesspeople and tourists. After breakfast, we drive the car out of the tight parking garage. The morning rush hour in the streets of Mainz isn’t too bad. We quickly reach the motorway. Just outside Mainz, we pass a few highway junctions. Fortunately, the navigation system tells us where to go. Just north of Frankfurt, we join the A3. We follow this road all the way to the Ruhr area. Along the way, we pass Bonn, Cologne, and Düsseldorf once again. Around two o’clock, we cross back into the Netherlands. The holiday to Italy is over. We have driven a little over 4,000 kilometres.
