Sri Lanka - Departure from Schiphol airport

Just after nine o’clock, I drive to Schiphol. I check in at the KLM Al Italia counter. I am unable to print my boarding pass for my connecting flight, so I will have to arrange that in Rome. Around half past eleven, I board the plane. Upon arriving in Rome, I first have to take a shuttle bus from Terminal 2 to Terminal 3. It’s quite a drive across the airport. Construction is underway everywhere—likely the older sections will be replaced soon. At the gate, I am also able to arrange my transfer ticket. There is a fairly long line and only one staff member. I wait patiently. After a while, a few colleagues arrive, and the process speeds up. I receive my boarding pass for the flight to Colombo. Shortly before four, the SriLankan Airlines Airbus 330 takes off for a nine-hour flight to Sri Lanka. In Sri Lanka, it will be three and a half hours later, meaning I will arrive early tomorrow morning. I try to get some sleep during the flight.
