Mozambique > Night flight to Nairobi

Dag 1 - Thursday, November 5, 2009

I can say that the preparation for a holiday hasn’t always gone smoothly. In the run-up to the trip, I had a bad case of the flu. Fortunately, I am flu-free again as I board the Kenya Airways plane to Nairobi at ten past eight in the evening.

Our seats are in the last row. They barely recline, and legroom is limited—not ideal for an overnight flight. On the plane, I only then notice how many people are coughing and blowing their noses. I can imagine how easily the flu could spread during a flight. Maybe because of this thought—or the dry air conditioning—I start to feel a cold coming on again. I hardly manage to sleep, and by five o’clock breakfast is served. This comes with a beautiful sunrise, glowing in an unbelievably vivid orange. I am quite fed up with the flight and am glad when the wheels touch down at Nairobi Airport.
